questions on a snap on tool chest

Hi .I have found this snapon tool chest at a old marine dealer,that closed its doors.I bought it because I like it.It appears it was orgionally grey.It has seen some parts that have be repainted in parts of ot.Does any one know what model it is?Also what year is it?Where can I find the model numbers on this?Has anyone restored a silver or grey one of these?What paint maches for this?Spray can works best for me.I like to restore this,but I like to know what I got..any help and tips would be appricated.Thank you for your time.jon

Looks like kr56. Made those mid 40s through the 50s. That logo puts it on the early side.

what paint matches the grey or silver?Where snapon put the model numbers? or they do it not on all of them.thanks jon

No numbers on those, too early. Seems like they were red, someone rattle bombed that one.

interesting thing was the drawers are more of a grey,but its a different shade than the spay bomb job on the outside.I had all the drawers out,to empty out all the junk that was in it.I couldn't find any traces of the snap on red.When did snap on offer the grey??Could this be industrial model?? did snap on make any changes on their boxes for industrial???.im just curious jon

There were some offered in grey according to the catalogs, that must be one of them

I have two or three painted the green/gray. I kinda like the color.

I did not repaint them just cleaned them up a bit.

If I was going to repaint I'd either mix the color or have it mixed custom based on some part not exposed to a lot of light. Probably not an attractive option since it's not the cheapest way to go.
