Snap OEX-160A

Found an interesting wrench at a local garage sale. The OEX-160A has a letter date for 1954. Looks like a OEX-160 but open end is slightly bent up (maybe 15 degrees). Can not find a reference to this wrench in the 1954 catalog. Is this a common wrench or rather rare?

The OXA160 has that offset, but it is a six point. another odd thing, is I do not see a (A) model in OEX160 ever being made. a pic would be nice.

Still trying how to post pictures. On this wrench both the box end and open end are bent up about 15 degrees. Looking on line it appears on the OEX-160 only the box end has the bend

Thanks for adding the pictures. Just noticed the wrench is magnetic. Don't know if it came from the factory this way or was later magnetized?

It is possible the open end is not a factory bend?

It is possible, but most of the time when that happens you can see there is a difference in color (usually heated). One of the odd things, the model number ends in A, I don't see a A model listed in the 50s, also look at the script its a bit odd for 54. they were making a offset wrench in 54, could be a factory error, could be that someone bent it.

For two years, 1941 and 1942, Snap-On made a wrench exactly like that under the Blue Point name. It was for adjusting the distributor on a flathead Ford V-8 engine when the distributor was on the front of the engine (before 1946). My guess is that this was made for the same purpose post-war. The Blue Point version was never resumed.
