Snap on No. 3 Tee Eight types

Post by snapmom »

No. 3 Tee. Eight types.
Made 1920-about 1941. I would think there are more types than eight, also dates are just a good guess as I think I do not have all of them. So, if you have any other types or differences in date codes, please post as to get the most correct eras and types. Does anyone have a 3 with internal stops in the grip

Type 1. 1920. two pinch, no name, no center grip.
Type 2. 1920-22 four pinch, snap on name, no center grip
Type 3. 1923. 2 ball stop, snap on name, no center grip.
Type 4. 1923-25. 2 ball, Milwaukee, 7/8" wide center grip with pinches
Type 5. 1925-26. 2 ball, Milwaukee, 7/8 wide center grip with ball stops
Type 6. 1926-29. 2 ball, No. 3. 7/8 wide center grip with ball stops, date 27
Type 7. 1929-34? Collar stop, 3/4 wide center grip with ball stops. date 1931
Type 8. 1934-41? Collar has slope. 3/4 wide center grip with ball stops 1935

My theory on the type #3 has been it dated '22-'23. Based on the other tools associated, primarily the NO.1 pull handle, also the info gathered from the '20's handout and '23 cat.
The '25 (east) catalog mentioned the switch to ball stops for the center grip. Information I found helpful.
Amazing to see the 2 pinch! I doubt many were produced and few survive. I found the 4 pinch by accident and feel fortunate to have found what I have.

Thanks again for sharing!
