The A means there was an update made. It could be a different revers lever, a different o ring to seal the head, a different pawl shape, or even the screws that hold the faceplate on go a different direction. But at the end of the day it is basically the same wrench, there is something different with the internal kit.

Thanks for the explanation HLAV1. I see both listed in the Snap-On Catalog at slightly different prices.
