I have this adapter. It is 3/8-24 female to 9/32" square drive. Part of the model number is worn off. It has been in my "Odds & Ends" box for decades. Any know anything about it. Snap-on couldn't help.
Make me an offer.

A odd tool, its a industrial tool. It may be two pieces, a socket and a driver.

No, it is one piece.
Most electric and air drills, 3/8" size or smaller have a 3/8-24 threaded spindle, (larger ones had a 1/2-20 thread), so it would have been an easy fit on a drill.
I'm still baffled by the 9/32" sq. dr.
