This is the smallest box I have. I believe it's mid '50s, any idea's?

Good to hear someone else has them. Is it your smallest box too?
They're useful for holding a nut or bolt and putting it on the bolt or threads, when the location is obstructed or out of hands reach. There's a wobbly thin sleeve that grips the fastener, holds vertical, horizontal, wherever. The meaningful difference from a magnetic is it holds the nut or bolt at the opening of the socket, not the bottom depth, and works on brass, aluminum, etc.. What I remember from childhood is they're hard to clean, and only for putting thing's back together, or already loose, not for torquing, and they go in their own box, and I can recall it being asked for when reaching down into the depths under the hood.
