I have a KR 537 and matching rollcab which I think I bought in 1973 or possibly 1974.
The top box has serial number information in the middle of the back sheet, near the bottom.
There is what I am guessing must be a serial number, something like 00949616 and to the right
of that a different stamp, 74.
I can't find any markings on the back plate of the bottom box.
I bought the two together, the 1973 catalog shows KR2094 for the combo.
Did Snap On not stamp bottom boxes if sold as part of a combo?
Does the 74 mean 1974 or something else?
Regards.
KR 537

Re: KR 537
Thanks for the confirmation. I had forgotten what year I bought the boxes in. I will look on the side of the bottom box.
I guess mine is the first series or something like that; no D or other suffix to the KR537 marking.
Doesn't really matter much; I have had the box a long time and have no plans to replace it.
I am seeing these for sale locally and on eBay. They don't seem to be bringing the $1,000 or so the sellers are hoping for, noticed a couple don't even get $500 for a set like mine or $800 for a set like mine with a side cab.
Prices must be down a bit, or were they never much higher?

Prices have dropped a lot. These are good boxes for storage and use.

Re: KR 537
I purchased my KR537 and KR557 back in December 1976. I traded the KR557 in when I purchased my KR562 back in 1982. I still have my KR537 though. Brings back many memories, like was it that long ago?
