S-9507 What is it?

I have seen several of these sockets S-9507, usually with a 1934 date code, 1/2 drive, 17/32 opening. built thick like a impact socket. But I have no clue what it would be for. My guess is a socket for like a main bearing. so if anyone has a clue, post it.
