A light grey (hammered) paint on a ferret set. I would think it would date about 1947. Any info would be helpful.

relatively simple set without much room to add to it.
Not sure what the color means.
Education? industrial? specific to one particular machine or vehicle?

I have not run across one that came with a hammered finish before. Looks really cool.

Looks great Snapmom.
Note the italics in the decal, and the style of the embossed stamp, that 1947 date is as good as any. Not older than 46, or newer than 52.

Looks like 27 is the first ferret set in the cats. If this is a 47 set could be a 20 yr commemorative thing. Looks like the only 47 cat on site is industrial. Maybe someone has a 47 catalog?

The cats would be 46, 48.

Nice looking set! Snap-on didn't come to the uk on sale before 1965 so it's not English
