A Small Blue Point Find

Found this at a recent swap. I believe the previous owner used this to hold carb tools because it reeks or of old fashioned chlorinated Gunk carb cleaner. It is filthy and it will be (gently) cleaned to reveal the actual color. It seems to be blue but it's so dirty it's hard to tell for sure. The Blue Point decal is pretty beat and will require some delicate handling to not loose any more of it. The closure is unique to me for Snap-on and Blue point boxes it uses a wire slide bolt and it works perfect. I am quite pleased with this find and hopefully someone can help me figure out what era, set and model number is.

It is prob. 40s. You can use this box for most anything you want, but probably started its life out as a:

Thanks snapmom! That looks like the box exactly. From the catalog it looks like a label with the set contents was glued o the inside of the lid and the actual box has some residue that must be glue.

nice find. I have a 1930s-1940s K-80 Utility Case that has the same type of sliding closure. the closure has passed the test of time without damage.

That closure is pretty cool. I suppose though it is complicated to manufacture and that's why it's not common.
