When my relation retired from Snap On back in 2015 they gave him a drill set as a gift, it's a CDREU8850H,

He doesn't do much drilling and is happy with his old black and decker drill if he ever needs it, so he wants to sell the kit, he's never used it except to charge the 2 batteries the set comes with, so the charge counter shows 2 on both.

The box has a label on it saying: CDREU8850H but at the bottom right corner the box says CDR8850H, the drill says CDREU8850H though so was wondering if this could be a refurbished unit?

To buy new it's just over 750 euros, but with it now being 4 years old, regardless of it being unused it will obviously be out of guarantee, what sort of price would be realistic?

Charge count means nothing now and the batteries are out of date so they will just need to be replaced. Sad somebody let something like that sit and do nothing. Your best bet if you want to sell the drill is to find somebody that already has an impact or other tools with the same battery and just sell them the tool, the batteries are basically worthless now, they might work a little but they are not new by any means, not using them was most likely worse on them than using them.

Hey thanks for the reply, i'm not sure if that is correct as i've emailed a battery supplier on eBay and he said the CTB8185 batteries should be fine to use.

Like you say it may be best to sell the drill unit separately and then throw in the batteries for free.

I am not saying the batteries will not work, they might, but they will not last long.

I have done this same thing. Had a drill that I hardly used and after some time my batteries did not work well. The batteries would work for a short time and then quit; never long enough to do the job.

Now I use a lot of tools with the same battery (Ryobi One). I still hardly use the drill, but other tools use the batteries all the time. Those batteries work in the drill whenever I need them.
