Help dating old FV 71 3/8 ratchet
Hi there. I'm new to this site so please excuse me if this information is located elsewhere on the site. I've got this old 3/8 flat style ratchet. FV 71 . It's short, 6" long. I cant seem to find it in the catalog search or in the other ferret type early ratchets. I did find lots of other useful info about lots of other tools on this site. Thanks! A previous post on this Forum says it's probably an unlisted Military ratchet from the 60's. OK that could be, but it seems older than the familiar oval type ratchets of the 60's. Please let me know an approximate date for this item if you have some info. BTW, it still works perfect of course and it's been very well used. Thanks for an awesome Snap-On site! Scott

It is military. The 60's were notorious for not having date codes, this one has no dare code, the war was going on, so the most likely date would be the 60's. This style was made in that time period
