Line wrench

Recently purchased some line wrenches, and one says “not guar” on the back. I assume this means “not guaranteed”, but I am not certain. Can anyone provide some background information on this legend? Thanks!

You see this mostly on some 40-50s tools. " Tools liable to abuse so not subject to warranty". Marked in the cats by a (star) symbol in front of the model number.
