R-70-B

Hi y’all, I’m a new member, Names Drew… I have a R-70-B ratchet that I can’t happen to find any history or info on.. I know it’s a refrigeration ratchet.. but I’d like to know the history on it… Also have a F-70 ratchet as well .. thanks in advance for any feedback

the R70B would probably be late 60s, here is one in the 65 catalog. page 58

The F70 would be early 30s, two main types. the flat selector is hard to find.

Thanks a lot 🫡🫡 so here’s pictures of my ratchet’s … I noted that my F70 has the same star as the flat one.. mine broke along its gurney… hey should I leave as is or try to find a re build kit ?

you can take it apart and oil it. (use a plastic bag so you will not lose parts.) put it in a vise inside the bag, using a brass punch, tap the plate out from the rear. oil it replace the faceplate. will have to use a brass hammer, punch to reset the plate.
you can make a selector switch from a finishing nail.
