The second adaptor comes in during mid 1922. Has 15 teeth, Length 2-7/8.
The third (stubby) comes in during mid 1923, and is last seen in the 29 cat. (its possible there may be a 1930)
There are several variations. below are four.
First var. Snap on pat.1-30-23 are on both sides of the adaptor. and are stamped in the middle shaft. Also 1923 is stamped on the socket shaft. (approx meas.) Overall length 2-3/8. Top shaft 19/32 Mid shaft 1-1/16 inch. socket shaft 5/8
Second var. Snap on pat.1-30-23 on one side of the adaptor. Stamped in mid shaft. Overall length 2-3/8. Other meas. are just a bit diff. than first var. but this maybe due to the guy who made it, I have measured several of these two types and there are slight variations in the shaft sizes.
Third Var. Snap on pat'D-1-30-23. on the top shaft. the SNAP ON name is in big cap lettering and is upside down in this example. (note that a D is added in pat). The overall length is still 2-3/8. But the shafts are completely different. (approx meas) Top shaft 13/32 mid shaft 1-1/4 socket shaft 9/16.
Fourth Var, Snap on pat.1-30-23 on top shaft. the name is right side up. (notice that the D in pat is gone.) The measurments are about the same as third var. I have seen some of these with date codes, so post a pic if you have one.
