MYSTERY TOOL

Hi,
I'm new to the forum but I've been collecting Snap-On tools since 1998. This site is great and has helped me identify several tools from the 1920's and up, but this one has me stumped. It has an octo-grip handle on it and has no name or part number on it. My best guess is that it has something to do with valve keepers. Any ideas?

The picture didn't post because the file is too big. I'm going to have to figure out how to reduce it to 256KiB.

It doesn't have a model number, and it doesn't even say Snap-On on the octo-grip handle.

Just a guess - Valve lifter puller. The finger/s fit in a groove and pull the lifter out of the block
Not sure, but maybe

Thanks Frank!, and thanks especially for this website. I'm going to post another mystery tool in a couple of minutes.

I finally found out what this tool is for, and Frank was right. It's part number S-9830 and listed on page 61 in the 1953 U catalog. It's a hydraulic valve lifter puller for Buicks and Chevrolets.
