Unique Snap-On Toolbox?

I recently bought this toolbox at an auction because it seems well made and has a Snap-On logo, but I'm unable to find any identifying markings (except, of course, the logo) or any other toolbox like it. The paint appears to be original and looks to me to probably be from the 60's. I'm pretty sure it is an authentic Snap-On toolbox, but without anything to compare to, I have some doubts. Is it actually Snap-On, or did someone just put the logo on it? When, approximately, was it made?

take a good look at the back and sides, should have a model number on it.

I thought I had looked it over everywhere, but after a closer inspection, I did find "KR-753A" with "1766" under it and "MADE IN U.S.A. 57" under that at the bottom left of the left side. I did find one on eBay with that model number, but it's red and the drawers have the newer style full length pull rather than the two handles on each of mine. I assume the "57" means mine was made in 1957? That, and any other information, especially about the what I believe is an unusual color, would be greatly appreciated.

it is a 1957. its odd, the KRxxx series for that time period only goes up to about 432. It may be a special for the chev belair, as that color was used in Belair special tool boxes in later time periods. I cannot find that model number anywhere. will try to get someone with a better knowledge of boxes than me to look at it. thanks for posting it.

Is the blue paint the original color, check the drawers etc, to make sure.

I'm 99.9% sure it's original. Although there are numerous bare spots from being scraped and chipped over the years, no color other than metal shows anywhere.

I have one just like it in gray which was built for IBM. It does not have any name or identification on it. Most likely dates from the 1950s or early 1960s. Word of mouth says it was made by Snap-on...IBM was known to buy tools from Snap-on during that time period.
