2ft long Snap On socket rails

Post by flintsghost »

I have lots of sockets and rails. Today I stumbled on a large number of snap on socket rails. One of them was just about 24" long and I wondered what kind of set would be fitting on a rail that long. Most of the 1/2" drive sets come on the 16 1/2" rails.
Also in this bunch were a couple of Snap on rails that not only had the part numbers stamped i.e. A267 etc but were actually stamped with "Snap On" on the rail. Can anyone give me info on when they did that. I do know that since they began having their rails made in Mexico, even the part numbers are no longer on them. Most of mine have part numbers and the two I got today with the name on them were unusual for me to see anyway. Any info appreciated. Thanks

i dont know if it was the intended purpose but, in the 80's-90's the long rails were used to hold loose sockets for display on the trucks.

Don’t know if any one has any interest in this but I have been looking for the 24 inch socket rails for about 4 years now. Well I found out who made them for Snap-on and I have been in contact with them to see if I could order some. Well to keep it short “ I can order them” so I will be ordering some 24 inch rails from the company that made them for Snap-on as well as some clips “They make them too” So my question is, Does anyone have any want for the extra rails and clips I am not going to use. I have to order more than I will use. Based on the quote I got it looks like the rails are going to be in the $5.50 +$6.00 dollar range + shipping per rail and clips are $25.00 per 100 units. I will be doing a min qty order with them around last week of april or first week of may, and there is a 3 to 5 week fill time. I can be reached at 678-694-7798 if you have any questions. Thanks Greg
