Diagonal Cutters Number 86 and 87

Above are an early and late 87 Diagonal Cutters. There are labeling differences and differences in the vacuum grip handles

The Number 86 and 87 are different lengths. These are general cutters and for cotter pins. Both tools show a lot of variation inside the same part numbers. The earliest Diagonal Cutters (86 and 87) have suction cups terminated with a line. The model is listed in the joint. Around 1932 the lines seems to have dropped. There are one, two and three rows of suction cups. The variations are something I don't fully understand. Most are 2 rows. Newport PA was the sole source into 1931 /2 and Kenosha built pliers along with Newport after this into the 1950s..

the 85 is 4 1/2 inches and was introduced in 1935
