5/8 inch drive Sockets
5/8 inch drive
Shown to the right are 3 sockets and the logos. The left most photo has an O over stamped with an S. These are undated, but are 1920 - 1926?. The center and the far right are both stamped 1929. This leads me to think 1929 changed the socket style and the logo. The older logo has a bigger S, and the P devides the line. the newer style (center) shows a line matching the bottom of the S and the P has a very small triangle "tail" in it.
5/8 inch drive height differences
Shown to the right are 4 sockets - 2 side by side are the same size. The first set shows 2 height, with no date difference. The 2nd set shows a date and logo difference. It appears one could get short or long sockets. No note of this is made anywhere.

5/8 inch drive "P" series Sockets
5/8 inch drive
Shown to the right is a Socket with a modern logo. It is not date stamped, but the socket number starts with "P". The P series is the obsolete series sold in industrial catalogs. It shows the 5/8 inch drive sold well beyond the period of time shown in the catalogs. My guess is that one could purchase 5/8 inch sets well into the 1980
