METAL BOX & CAB'T CORP. 1962
For the record I recently got a 2 drawer mid section type box normally being a Snap-On KRA 428 but stamped "METAL BOX & CAB'T CORP. 62" and numbered MB 413. It had a chrome script Snap-On logo on the left side of the upper drawer. This 1962 box is a couple of years later than Frank's estimate of '58 or '59 being the last years of outsourced boxes. Another unusual feature is the two sides each having a full length "wall" to retain the top box instead of just the four small corner tabs. I've seen earlier units having the logo placed onto the center front of a drawer and yet they still have the four small top tabs. Lastly the top drawer is divided internally with a 2-3/4" high divider running lengthwise about in the center. My '87 KRA 428 doesn't have this divider. Has anyone seen a similar unit?
