KRA boxes repair questions

I just put together a set of boxes I aquired from several different places. The bottom is a KRA-307, the top is a KRA-61, and the side cabinet has no model number as far as I can see but the SNAP-ON badge is identical to the other two. These badges have the tiny (R) in the name snap-on on the badge.
I have several questions. 1) Has anyone tried to replace the "tab" on the drawer side that catches the slide clip to stop the drawer from completely comming out? I have a couple missing on a couple of drawers.
2) Is there a way, or tool, to replace missing spot welds on the lid hinges?
3) On the top box, are the handle assemblies supposed to be chromed?
4) Does anyone have a restored photo of the badge? I want to accuarately restore those also.
5) Is there a way to remove the badges without destroying the pins that secure them to the box?

My Dads tool box just lost one of those tabs that holds the drawer from over sliding. Snap on sent him a new slide. For the little clips on the name plates you need to carefully pry up the tabs to get them lose. Its tricky but can be done.

I am brand new to posting on this site...and just today I was working on the same issue you mention above. I actually joined this forum to see if I can find a badge for my KRA 429B.

Anyway, I replaced five of the "spring retaining tabs" on the drawer slides today. I bought cheap hack saw blades because they come with the hole drilled at a perfect size at each end. So I got two tabs out of each blade. I cut the ends to length, and then ground them to width on the grinder. I tried to rivet them on as original, but my pop rivet gun was not up to the task. So I used small nut, star lock washer, and bolts. It's crude, but I figure I'll spend my "making it look nice" time on the stuff you can actually see. Functions perfectly. Now onto prep and paint!
