MBCentury Roller Cover removal Help

Post by myerfire »

Hello,
I'm trying to replace the lock mechanism in a MBCentury MB-327 Roller Stand. Does anyone know where to get a replacement lock for this unit? How about the cord or just the cord end that fits the charging socket on the outlet?

Additionally, does the roll down cover have to be removed to access / install a new lock and if so does anyone know how to remove the front roll down cover?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I saw the picture in your other thread but its tiny. If your box is like my 300d rolla bench the sliding door is a lot of work to remove. I haven't removed mine but I investigated it. From what I can tell you have to pull all the drawers. Then pull the handle off the rolling door. This will allow it to slide past the top and circle around out of the track on the back wall of the box. To just replace the lock you wouldn't have to remove it completely just remove the handle and slide it back.

Thanks for the reply Dodge.. I haven't quite figured out the attachment process here, so please forgive the small pic. Mine is similar to yours, a bit older with steel rolltop front. Yours is aluminum, 5-10 years newer I think, but I would assume the process is very similar to remove. The handles (mine has two) being the most difficult part as they are solid rivited. I was hoping there was a magic keeper that once you remove *voila* the rolltop springs out and lays flat on my workbench. Figures. Nothing rewarding is easy.

Ah that makes it harder. I believe my box is dated 1970. Been a while since I've seen the back of it. I know its older than I am! My since handle is screwed on so its easily removed and replaced. You may have to drill the rivets and replace with screws and nuts.
