Keys and locks
I am desperately trying to make a lock set work for my KR65A top chest. I looked at the replacement parts on Snap On's website and tried three different lock sets. All of them supposedly fit KR series chests. The problem is the original lock sets are no longer available and Snap On switched part numbers. The new lock sets do not fit through the hole in the lid! I do not want to file the lid to make the lock fit. I might try to file the flat edges of the lock cylinder first but this is very frustrating. All of the locks for early KR series chests have changed to the K1LA tubular style lock. Any ideas and help appreciated. Thanks.

Do you need only a lock and key?

Re: Keys and locks
Yes, one lock and key will work. I have a K1LA lock set and another snap on lock set for a KR53 which uses a clip instead of a nut to secure it. They just don't fit through the hole. Thank you for replying. I don't know why Snap On can't figure this out.

That looks like the right style. And looks like it will work.
