K60 clone set [not ANV?]

Post by 00fxd »

This set JUST appeared locally [6hrs away]. Has anyone seen this type before? It seems to be larger than the usual K60 ANV and it has the 4 + 4 side drawers like the original, while the ANV just has 2 large single side drawers.

Don't care too much about the roller.

Top box is 21 1/2” wide x 16” tall x 15 3/4” deep. Handle adds 1”.

As it is so far away from me I would like to know if anyone has seen one and could give me and Idea of the quality, how solid is it, or anything else about them/it?

Thanks for any insight :D
Frank

There is a book called SnapOn Collectibles by Caroline Schloss ISBN 0-7643-0703-7 and in this book on page 151 is a picture of your box. Images of the page and the cover are attached.

Thanks Frank.
Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for creating and maintaining this Fantastic site! Collecting Snap On :D I do not post often but I do spend much time surfing and enjoying, as do many. It's an incredible resource.
Thank you so much!!!

I think your page 151 refers to the more common repro, the K60 ANV as is attached to this post. The side drawers are different and has 3 only main drawers?
If you notice the pic of the one I'm enquiring about in the first post, it more resembles the original. Am I off base with my observations here?

Well a couple of things, 1) on the site, thank you 2) I have never owned one and I don't really "know", but the text on page 151 says there are 2 variations

I assume (could be totally wrong) that the variation on the left has a single drawer on each side, but there is no picture of the one on the right. So in the end, I don't really know, but if you buy it, maybe you can post a few pictures and tell us what it really is?
