Help identifying SnapOn box

Post by white_chev »

Hi there. New to the forum- thanks for having me. Haha.

Hoping for a little help identifying a SnapOn box I just purchased locally. I am having a difficult time finding other older 'gold' coloured boxes online. I was only able to find one modern box celebrating a SnapOn anniversary. If you know anything about this box I would appreciate your insight.

Thanks!

You have a KC526 from the 50th Anniversary of Snap-on in 1970, check the 1970 catalog for the regular red version it will not show the gold one because it was a special promotion. It would have had a 50th decal in the front and the logo should have had gold instead of black in the background

Nice looking chest. You don't see too many of this style. I have the same box but not in the anniversary paint scheme. Mine are all original with the exception of the newer casters and current locks although I have the originals. When I obtained these boxes, drawer slides were still available (2005ish) if you need some.

Thanks for the replies. Pretty neat that it is an anniversary box. Unfortunately it is pretty beat up but I am going to clean it up as best I can and put it to use. I don't need new drawer slides but I did notice that the tabs that keep the drawer from opening all the way and coming off the slides are damaged on the bottom most drawers. This looks like a complicated/impossible fix. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks again,
