Drawers...

Post by AndyB52 »

Hi all. Newbie here and l am sorry if l am too general and not thorough enough.l have just bought two Snap On uool chests second hand on eBay. The seller demonstrated them to me,locks/ drawers etching bit when l got them home ( they had to lay on their backs in transit) some of the drawers won't open. The guy said that the top lid should be fully up for them all to open. The thing is, some open and some don't so surely they should all open or all remain locked. I was told that some drawers have sliders under leading edge that need releasing. This was related to me after l had left the my garage which is not at home. Any advice welcome
Thanks , Andy

My Snap On box locks the drawers from the front. My Craftsman boxes have a bar in the back that raises and lowers with the lid and locks the drawers. If the locking mechanism is in the back, you can pull the drawers out and close the lid. Then they open and close without the lid open.
