9/32 Box gray shades

Since the catalogs are black and white, it is hard to tell what gray color shade the 9/32 Tee Handle boxes were. The ones I have seen range from primer gray shade to dark gray shade almost like asphalt. Is there a better color guide somewhere?

I have not found one. So, if repainting, just go with what grey looks good to you . It is the crinkle paint that is hard to match, also the greens from the 20s. Heck that blue-green is hard too.

Thanks. Looking at the catalogs, they look to be more on the darker side than the lighter side.
