K7 or K70 Tool chest?

Post by Dawn »

I picked this beauty up at an antique flea market. I have looked at all of the catalogs and think that I have narrowed it down to a k7 or k70. The sizes are the same but it looks like the k70 may have something written under the snapon logo it's hard to tell from the photos in the catalogs. How are the k7 and k70's different? I do not see where either were offered in red? I am not a Snap on collector, I am a picker and just felt the need to save it. My intent is to sell it to someone who appreciates the history of it so that it doesn't end up at another flea market or God forbid the dump. I would like to know what it is and the value. Can anyone help narrow this down? Thank you in advance!

31'-35' catalogs list k-7 in black, 36'&37' catalogs list k-70 in grey. About the only difference I saw. Yours appears to have remnants of black, under the red. Leads me to guess k-7.
Shipping becomes a big deal for larger pieces.

Thank you for the info! Any idea of value? I use USHIP which I have found very reasonable.

You're welcome, I enjoyed the study!
I haven't looked for boxes enough to dare even give a price range, sorry. Maybe eBay for an idea.
