KR537 Variants

Post by ee.griffith »

I just got my first Snap On box, I recovered it from a dilapidated shed. It is a KR537 1977 model per the markings on the back. I was doing some research in the catalogs and have ran into some confusion. The box is stamped 77, there is no letter following the model KR537 (No bloody A, ... or D). The 1978 catalog shows the box without any trim on the drawers. The first time I can find trim on the drawers is in the 1983 catalog but by that time the logo has changed design and location. Could it be that the print methods in the late 70's didn't allow for that much detail, or were there different versions using the same model numbers?

Short answer

From the beginning, the catalogs lag behind the product changes. Years behind sometimes.

There's a long answer too
