Snap-On Ratchet 9/32 drive Midget M-70L

Post by mrchuck »

I want to use this very old Snap-On ratchet again, but I NEED an adapter 9/32 to 1/4 inch.
A fellow member from Tool Talk mailed me one, but it would not fit as it was a 5/16 to 1/4 nich. TOO BIG for the drive end of this tiny ratchet.
I have lots of 1/4 inch sockets, and it will be nice to put this little ratchet back to work on the "ready line".
At least this is what this little guy whispers to me every time I pick it up.
So, if any of you Snap-On lovers out there can help me get this adapter, It will be appreciated by both of us.
Thanks,,,,,,mc

You can purchase a 1/4 ratchet repair kit from Snap on to replace the 9/32" drive. Don't change the reverse lever to keep the old metal one. Just hang on to the 9/32" guts in case you want to change back.

I will get on the S-O truck the next time I see him in town, and see if he has one on his truck. Thanks for answering.

Problem solved. In my photo you see a small extension. I ground down the male end of this extension to 1/4 inch, and it works perfectly for my needs.
I was a little scared to open up this tiny ratchet to change over the male end to 1/4".
Happy now, and have already used it to fix things in the shop!.

Did anybody have any luck finding a spare A-6 adapter to convert 9/32 to 1/4? I'm in the same boat as mrchuck, don't really want to open the ratchet but I don't have any extension I would be willing to ground down.
