Can anyone help identify this?

Post by MattFrankford »

First of all I would like to say Hello to everyone! I have just recently come across this site and figured maybe someone here would have any answers. I have something that was given to my father, for me, when i was still a child. He was given it by a snap on executive back somewhere around 1980-1982. At that point he was told it was about 50 years old. He was also told that there were only 50 of them ever made and they were given out to top executives. (Everything I say about it is what I have been told, I am uncertain of the facts.) It is a gold set, laying on a green velvet covered board. Every piece on it has "Snap on" on it. There are a total of 12 pieces which consist of 1 necklace, 4 small buttons, 3 big buttons, 1 shirt pendant, 2 cufflinks?, and 1 of something else I am unsure of. It is all gold. I have done every bit of searching that I can and can not find anything about it online. I would really love to know the actual story behind it and the year. If anyone has any at all information, it would be greatly appreciated. I am attaching pictures too.

These are not as old or as rare as you were told.I have several of each of the items that you show, the one that you are not sure of is called a tie tac and yes they are cufflinks. There are at least 3 other items in this set, another necklace with one of the small buttons in clear plastic, a key ring and a money clip. The buttons are called blazer buttons and were designed to replace the buttons that came on a blazer. These are not gold just gold colored at least all of the ones that i have are not marked 10K or have any marks at all. These were made by Erffmeyer and Sons CO, Inc. (ESCO) out of Milwaukee, WI. who makes many of the award and jewelry items for Snap-on. Some of the items are only sold to the Branches to be used as awards to dealers or field managers, and other items can be ordered directly by the dealers. The money clip i have has a date of 1979 on it so these items are from the 70's and could go back to the 60's but doubtful that they go back any farther. I would also guess that the display board is homemade.
